Arctech Helsinki Shipyard to build an Innovative Multipurpose Emergency and Rescue Vessel for Russian Ministry of Transport

Arctech Helsinki Shipyard has been awarded a contract to build a multipurpose emergency and rescue vessel for Russian Ministry of Transport. The contract has been awarded together with Shipyard Yantar JSC. The value of the order is about EUR 76 million.
The project will start immediately and the vessel will be delivered to the customer in December 2013. The hull of the vessel will be built by Shipyard Yantar, which is one of the shipyards belonging to United Shipbuilding Corporation, the Russian part owner of Arctech. The outfitting and finalizing of the vessel will be done by Arctech in Helsinki.
Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Started the Production of Second Icebreaking Supply Vessel

Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Inc. started the production of second icebreaking supply vessel for Russian shipping company Sovcomflot at the Helsinki Shipyard 2 November 2011. Both vessels will be delivered in April 2013.
The main purpose for the vessels is to supply the Arkutun-Dagi oil and gas production platform of Exxon Neftegas Limited in the Sakhalin area in Far East Russia. Production of the first vessel was started at Vyborg Shipyard in July 2011 and now the production of the sister vessel was started in Helsinki. 37 of the hull blocks of the vessels will be assembled at Vyborg Shipyard and and five in Helsinki. Most part of the hull production will be done as subcontracting work in Vyborg because the steel production in Helsinki was closed down in 2003. ”At Arctech we are more concentrated on the project management, design, hull assembly, outfitting and implementation”, says Esko Mustamäki, the Managing Director of Arctech Helsinki Shipyard.
Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Inc. and Arctia Offshore Ltd. agreed on maintenance dry docking of MSV Nordica

Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Inc. and Arctia Offshore Ltd have signed a contract on the dry docking of MSV Nordica 12 October 2011. The vessel arrives to Helsinki Shipyard 1 December 2011. The 28 days docking includes maintenance work of the azimuth thrusters, painting of the hull and deck, renewal of the navigation system UPS and other minor maintenance work.
During the docking Wärtsilä Oyj will supply MSV Nordica and MSV Fennica, also owned by Arctia Offshore, with catalytic converters The work will be done in December 2011.
Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Inc. completed modernization and repair works of four barges and two pushers for ESL Shipping Ltd. The work was agreed between ESL Shipping and STX Finland Lifecycle Services. Arctech Helsinki Shipyard executed the project in Helsinki.
