Arctech to Build an Icebreaking Supply Vessel for Sovcomflot

Arctech Helsinki Shipyard has been awarded a contract to build an icebreaking supply vessel for the Russia´s largest shipping company Sovcomflot. The new vessel will be built for the North East Sakhalin Offshore region oil and gas field where she will be used as a platform supply vessel for Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd. (SEIC). The total value of the order is about EUR 100 million.

The icebreaking multipurpose emergency and rescue vessel for the Russian Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport that will be operated by the FGI Gosmorspassluzhba (Russian Marine Emergency Rescue Service), is close to the delivery at Arctech Helsinki Shipyard. Baltika will be used in icebreaking, rescue and oil combatting operations in the Gulf of Finland.

Icebreaking emergency vessel Baltika on trials

Arctech Helsinki Shipyard is building an icebreaking multipurpose emergency vessel for the Russian Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport. At the moment the vessel is going though trials at the shipyard. The trials include testing of the sound system and lights of the vessel, which can be seen/heard around the Hietalahti harbour area.
The vessel will be delivered to the client in spring 2014.
