We are all in the same boat

The main responsibility in my work is selling completed blocks and to make selling inspections with the customer and maritime classifications registries. When my work is done, we know that the part of the ship under construction is in order from our side.

I started to work at Arctech in March 2011 as a quality engineer. I’ve studied materials science in Tampere University of Technology and worked as a researcher at the same department. I had no experience in shipbuilding and the shipyard sounded like a new and interesting place to work.

The main responsibility in my work is selling completed blocks and to make selling inspections with the customer and maritime classifications registries. The structure of the boat changes quite a bit after the design and presenting these changes to the client and classifications registries is my job. The most rewarding part of my job is to see an entity ready. When my work is done, we know that the part of the ship under construction is in order from our side.

I’ve very much enjoyed my time here at Arctech. Compared to the slow work of a researcher here we push constantly forward and there is always something happening. We have an excellent team and a great spirit even in pressure. Solidarity among the staff is amazing. We are all in the same boat – literally.
